Swimming Mermaid Classes for children 7 years and older ~ FinFun Mermaid University Program

Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of mermaids with our swimming mermaid class led by a professional underwater performer and experienced swimming mermaid. Our curriculum combines expert instruction with the magic of mermaid lore, ensuring a unique and engaging experience for strong swimmers aged 7 years old or older.

Course Highlights:

  • Expert Instruction: Learn from a seasoned professional who brings a wealth of experience and passion for safe mermaid swimming.

  • Skill Development: Improve your swimming skills while mastering the art of moving gracefully underwater with a mermaid tail skin and monofin.

  • Safety First: Classes emphasize water safety and proper swimming techniques to enhance your confidence and abilities. Each child must demonstrate prerequisites prior to being allowed to practice in the mermaid tail.

  • Equipment: Each participant will receive a beginner’s children’s sized monofin and Finfun brand tail skin. Colors vary.

Swimmers must demonstrate the following skills before being allowed to practice in the monofin:

• Float: 30 seconds on back, 30 seconds on front—take breath while on front.

• Roll from front to back, roll from back to front.

• Tread water for approximately one minute.

• Swim 25 yards or meters in any manner.

• Perform the dolphin kick.

Mermaid Certification Requirements:

• Take mermaid tail on and off.

  • Demonstrate the Quick Release Method.

  • Glide across shallow end with tail and fin on.

  • Swim 25 yards with tail and fin on

If swimmer is found to be lacking in necessary skills to keep them safe in the mermaid tail, they will be allowed to practice modified techniques during the class and equipment will be left with their adult for when skills improve. To ensure proper sizes can be ordered & shipped on time, all participant sizes must be submitted 2 weeks prior to the class date.

Class is approximately 2 hours and requires a minimum of 8 children to participate

$75 per Child, 8 children minimum. Traveling fees for locations outside of Sacramento may apply.

Each course includes a certificate for each swimmer, a FinFun Brand Tail Skin (colors vary), kids monofin & care sheet to keep!

 

Logistics

Mermaid University courses can be shared in your backyard pool or at public facilities with approval. Mermaid Instructors are not lifeguards and are not lifeguard certified. We highly recommend and encourage all adults to be in the water, actively learning with their young swimmers during the entire course. We also recommend all celebrations involving children and water hire professional, certified lifeguards through a reputable company.

Pixie Tribe requires 14 business days prior to your event date to place order for all mermaid tails and monofin, be sure to send in participant sizes prior to that time. Ideal for children ages 9-15. Appropriate for very strong swimmers age 7+.
